Chelsea are delighted to announce the signing of a two-year contract extension with Cole Palmer until 2033.

Cole enjoyed one of the most outstanding debut seasons for Chelsea after joining the club last summer, scoring 25 goals in all competitions, being named Premier League Young Player of the Season and picking up the club’s Player of the Season and Man of the Season awards.

He set or equalled club records, and he also made his mark on the international stage with the English national team: he was only the second player in his country’s history to score a goal in a European Championship final.

“I am delighted to sign this new contract,” said 22-year-old Cole. “I have achieved a lot in my first season here and I hope to continue to experience great things at this club, both on a personal level and in terms of success and trophies for Chelsea.”

Cole arrived at Stamford Bridge from Manchester City last August and didn’t take long to make an impression, scoring his first goal on his third start for the Blues – a nerve-racking penalty that has now become his trademark – and establishing himself as a key figure in our attack.

During the first half of the 2023/24 season, Cole scored important goals in key matches, most notably at home against Arsenal and Manchester City and away against Tottenham Hotspur. More followed in the final months of the season, including back-to-back hat-tricks at Stamford Bridge against Manchester United and Everton.

Cole became the first Chelsea player to achieve this feat in a single season – and later only the third Chelsea player to score at least 20 goals in his debut season.

He has had a similar impact on the international stage. After earning his first cap for England in November 2023, Cole cemented his place in the squad for this summer’s European Championships. Cole made five appearances at the tournament in Germany and was in position when the pressure was at its highest, with an assist in the semi-final and a goal in the final.

Cole returned to Cobham last week to begin his preparations for the 2024/25 season and everyone at the club is looking forward to supporting his development in the coming years.

Congratulations, Cole!
