The 13-deck ship is currently on a cruise around the British Isles
Holland America’s flagship MS Rotterdam is docked in the cruise terminal today. The ship is on a 14-day cruise through England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
The ship’s journey began in its home port of Rotterdam and it will arrive back in the Dutch city on August 17. The cruise includes stops in Invergordon in Scotland, as well as Dublin, the Isle of Skye and the Isle of Man. The upcoming voyage includes Holyhead in Wales, Cork in Ireland and Zeebrugge in Belgium.
Built in 2021 and renovated in 2023, the Rotterdam can accommodate 2,668 to 3,218 passengers and is served by 1,025 crew and staff. The ship has 13 decks, 11 dining options, 17 lounges and bars, two swimming pools and five whirlpools.

According to Cruise Critic’s website, the ship is a “model of elegant and thoughtful design aimed at cruise passengers of all ages and walks of life.” The website states, “Fans of traditional cruising will appreciate the new flagship’s spectacular crow’s nest observation lounge, a well-appointed library, the Lincoln Center Stage, a venue for intermittent classical music, and a main dining room designed by star architect Adam Tihany, whose ambience and scale recalls the great ocean liners of yore.”
