The annual Perseid meteor shower is nearing its peak on the night of Monday, August 12, into Tuesday, August 13. Some have also observed the Northern Lights.

The Perseids are active from mid-July and are considered one of the most beautiful meteor showers of the year. They are best observed in the northern hemisphere.
