Jadon Sancho is close to leaving Manchester United after PSG negotiated a swap deal

Jadon Sancho could move to Paris Saint-Germain on loan with an obligation to buy following negotiations between the French club and Manchester United.

The two clubs are trying to complete a deal that could also see midfielder Manuel Ugarte move in the opposite direction to Old Trafford.

Talks have been going on for weeks and it is rumored that even Marcus Rashford is in the running due to the French club’s long-standing interest.

Although a transfer of the England international to the French capital currently seems unlikely, there is hope that the two clubs can reach an agreement.

United believe a midfielder is the position they most need, with Ugarte long considered their first option.

The main problem is how close the Premier League club is to the profit and sustainability limits, but it is hoped that this can be partially remedied through talks with PSG themselves.

The French champions faced Sancho in the semi-finals of the Champions League last season, where he delivered a unique performance of his career.

And they are now open to a deal that could see United cut wages by around £250,000 a week. Sancho himself is willing to move to PSG.

The exact terms of any deal are yet to be finalised, but if it progresses, United would take Ugarte a step further.

Erik ten Hag has a personal interest in the 23-year-old Uruguayan, who is also seen as an extremely promising option by the club’s new recruitment hierarchy.

Rashford has had a difficult year at Old Trafford and has been in talks, but he is keen to make an effort at his boyhood club as United still see him as a figurehead for the club, even as a youth player.
