Cole Palmer has committed to Chelsea by signing a two-year contract extension that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2033.
The 22-year-old English striker joined Chelsea from Manchester City on September 1 last year and has had an outstanding Premier League season, helping to score 22 goals and being involved in 33.
With the new terms, Palmer extends his current contract for another two years as a reward for his breakthrough season at Stamford Bridge.
In total, he scored 25 goals and provided 15 assists in 45 appearances in all competitions.
Palmer moved from Manchester City last summer for an initial fee of £40 million, with the potential for £2.5 million in add-ons.
Will Palmer be fit for the start of the season?
Palmer is one of the English players who are lagging behind their club colleagues in the pre-season.
Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca has to decide whether or not to start him on Sunday against his former club City, live on Sky Sports.
Due to his performances at Euro 2024, he only returned to Chelsea last week after a holiday.
But Maresca had already used him as a substitute in the second half of the 1-1 friendly draw against Inter Milan at Stamford Bridge.
After playing against City on the opening weekend of the Premier League season, Chelsea will face Servette or Braga in a Conference League play-off four days later.
Ten new signings and 43 players: What’s going on at Chelsea?
It is the club’s latest deal during another busy summer.
Ten players have been signed so far this summer, with £185.4 million spent and counting. Twenty players have left the club and Chelsea are dominating the headlines of yet another transfer window.
Led by new head coach Maresca, who enters his first season in charge in west London, Chelsea continue to add to what is undoubtedly what will be the largest Premier League squad ever assembled.
With fans increasingly questioning the club’s strategy to get back to the top, Sky Sports looks to analyse the situation at Stamford Bridge with just days to go until Chelsea’s Premier League season opener against Man City. The game will be broadcast live on Sky Sports on Super Sunday (kick-off 4:30pm).
