Available to download from August 20, the new games include The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Wild Hearts, Cult of the Lamb, Ride 5, Watch Dogs 2, Sword Art Online: Last Recollection + Alicization Lycoris + Fatal Bullet + Hollow Realization and Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker. The Premium lineup is led by TimeSplitters, TimeSplitters 2 and TimeSplitters: Future Perfect. There’s also PSVR 2 game Vacation Simulator and Sword Art Online: Lost Song.
ORIGINAL: PlayStation Plus subscribers are counting down the hours until Sony reveals the Extra and Premium games for August 2024. Barring any last-minute changes or leaks, Sony will officially reveal the next Extra and Premium games on the afternoon of August 14 at 4:30pm BST UK time. Fans will have to wait a little longer for the games to be available to download and install, as the new releases will join PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium on the morning of August 20. Needless to say, the games will include around a dozen PS4 and PS5 games for Extra subscribers, as well as a selection of retro games and PSVR 2 titles for Premium members. Daily Express will update this article with any leaks and when Sony makes the official PS Plus Extra and Premium announcement on August 14.
It goes without saying that in the run-up to the big reveal, some fans tried to predict the cast on Reddit.
One game that keeps popping up is Sonic Frontiers, which will surely be released as a PS Plus extra at some point.
Despite some reservations before release, fans were impressed with Sonic the Hedgehog’s open-world gameplay.
“Worlds collide in Sonic the Hedgehog’s latest high-speed adventure!” says the official description.
“In search of the missing Chaos Emeralds, Sonic finds himself stranded on an ancient island filled with unusual creatures. Fight hordes of powerful enemies as you explore a stunning world full of action, adventure and mystery.

Other games expected to be included in PS Plus Extra include Hades, Resident Evil Village, Like a Dragon Ishin and Robocop.
Other games with a lot of predictions include Dead Island 2, a semi-open world action game set in zombie-infested Los Angeles.
Other games on the list include Cult of the Lamb, Star Wars Jedi Survivor, LEGO Harry Potter, Superheat, Viewfinder, Overcooked, Goat Simulator 3, Valkyrie Elysium, Divinity Original Sin, Madden NFL 24, Powerslaved Exhumed and What the Golf.
It’s also worth noting that some games will be disappearing from PS Plus Extra in August, including NBA 2K24.
There are also Need For Speed Unbound, SpellForce III, Trials of Mana, Moving Out 2, Midnight Fight, Lost Judgment, Destroy All Humans and Destroy All Humans 2.
The critically acclaimed RPG Sea of Stars is also leaving PS Plus, so you’ll want to hurry if you want to complete it.
