by The Caribbean Princess came to a stop off the coast of the Isle of Wight at around 6 p.m. on Tuesday after a passenger suffered a medical emergency.
A helicopter was seen circling the ship before landing on the vessel operated by Princess Cruises.
Those apparently called to the incident include the Sandown lifeboat and the coastguard helicopter from Lee-on-the-Solent.

A UK Coastguard spokesman said: “On Tuesday 13 August 2024, at around 6pm, the Lee-On-Solent Coastguard Helicopter and the Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team were dispatched to rescue an injured person from the Caribbean Princess.
“The patient was later taken to an ambulance.”
The ship was observed to stop its course off the coast of Ryde in the north-east of the island.
The Caribbean Princess left Southampton for Iceland at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday and is expected back in the city on August 29.
Since Wednesday morning it has been anchored off the coast of Falmouth in Cornwall.
This incident aboard Caribbean Princess occurred just one month after a medical emergency aboard her sister ship Regal Princess.
The ship, which was carrying over 3,000 passengers, was diverted to Falmouth after leaving Southampton a day earlier.
The Falmouth lifeboat piloted the boat to Pendennis Point where it evacuated a sick passenger.
The Echo has asked the RNLI and Princess Cruises for a comment.
